Are politicians good?

What do u think about few politicians in TN who say they are pro-Tamil
Don't u think all his statements are just political stunts, to woo the votes.
It is because people like him and few other politicians that, even today people of TamilNadu are not able to know the importance of National Language 'Hindi'. I am myself from TamilNadu, but just because of these thoughts i don become an anti-tamil.

I just want to expose the problems faced by Tamilians residing outside TamilNadu.
Because we don know Hindi,we just cant communicate with people and basic living becomes difficult.

I don mean to say that Tamil should be optional, but both Tamil and Hindi should be made as compulsory languages in schools.

And another issue: reservation.

See...it does help in few parameters but not entirely. We are in 21st century and still the politicians are playing dirty games with Castes and religions.
we need to reserve the seats on economic basis. How does catse based reservation does justice.
For eg: A temple priest is generally a brahmin and falls under FC. But he doesn't earn more than evn 5000 rupees in a month. And u expect him to fight for his son under open quota.

Great GodFather of Gujarat(NM)...
He is the biggest threat to secularism in India, who is always mooting communal violences.

Well...there are lot more politicians who do lot more bad than good to society.

Nishi I spotted an interesting contradiction between two posts in your blog :)

One post says "Do not spread rumors"
The other does exactly that! But I understand that it was gross misconception rather than a contrived indulgence in rumor mongering :)

I went crazy when a couple who were in a bus in Bangalore said to the conductor "Hindi tho hamari raashtrabaasha hai. Sharm nai aathi ki tum national langage bol nahi sakthe "

Here is a transcript of what I told them -

"Hindi is our National language is absolute Bull Shit. Underline Bull shit!"

Sole intent of the strong expression here is to make an impression on the mind of the listener! No offense meant. I love hindi and am a state rank holder in Hindi in my board exams. Nishi cann validate that :)

The female asked why?

Then I told them -
Constitution of India does not advocate a National Language at all. Proof - Part XVII Articles 343 - 351 This section is the ONLY portion of our constitution that deals with languages. If you find anywhere else in the constitution that Hindi is the national language do let me know.

Hindi shall be the official language for any communication between the Central Government offices. Nothing more!

Why dravidians oppose hindi? History comes in here. One of these articles (I dont remember which one and lazy to find that out) specified that Hindi and English will remain the official languages for 15 years after which a decision will be taken on whether to persist with english as OL.

Traditionally dravidians found brilliant positions with central government because of their proficiency in english. Also they found english easier to learn than hindi because access to goras was easier when compared to Aryans. So in the early 1960s they realized that if english is made the official language then their positions in Central government will go for a toss.

This was when CN Annadurai of DMK wanted to get into CMs post. But Kamarajar of Indian National Congress was doing his brilliant best. To make political inroads DMK played the tamil card and started gaining support. And anti hindi agitations of 1965 happened. Finally in 1967 CN Annadurai became the CM on the strength of anti hindi card.

It is a gross gross misconception that Hindi is our national language.

The couple said "paagal hai yeh" and went off. I was left wondering Paagal kaun hai.

Hi Vidya,
The post 'Don't spread rumours' was created mainly to bring back our childhood days memories.
